Beach Lot Dock (Goes out over the water. Tutorial)

I recently posted some screenshots of one of my sims sitting on a dock. It was mentioned a time or two that someone would like to learn how to build a dock. So I wrote up a little tutorial and posted it at MTS.

Here is a screenshot from it:

And here is the link to the tutorial
(I'd post the whole thing here, but it rather long due to the screenshots and I've already posted a whole boatload of screenshots.)

A Bunch of New Stuff (That you may have already seen!)

All of this has been posted on my tumblr, MTS or Black Pearl Sims. Yeah, I know- I've been neglecting this place for a while now. *dusts cobwebs out of the corner*

NOTE: The text above each pic is a clickable link to the download post!

This is a conversion I guess. While looking for TS3 stuffs to convert, I saw this wallpaper on SimCredible:

Drip Drop Drainpipes - Repositoried

Do you remember this drain pipe set by misty-fluff @ Simulated Situations? If not, it's a nifty set of drain pipes (downspouts?) that add a bit more realism to our simmies houses.

Misty has given me permission to share my edits of that set. I'm also borrowing her screenshot because it's 100x better than mine. :)

Wood For Sims Hanging Pot Racks Edited & Recolored

EDIT: While working on what I wanted to slave from this set (which wouldn't have been any of the furniture), I saw that Hafiseazale slaved the whole set (which does include the furniture). So, if you want to keep all of her edits- and get rid of this little set- so you have the whole set by one creator? Delete my edits.. the recolors will still work though. :)

Amythestfenix recently released her Gingham Kitchen recolors. She used the pot racks from Wood For Sims, which reminded me that I've had those since I first learned about the booty. Which then led me to load up my game to build and decorate for a bit. Well, that lasted all of 5 minutes since I realized that there are 4 pot rack pieces and they all use the same texture. So back to fiddling around with meshes I went.

What you get here is the pot racks from Wood For Sims Big Barn Kitchen slaved- the 1 tile rack [wfs2barnkithangpots1a] is the master and the parts to make an "any size" rack (shown in pic above) are the slaves; and recolors of the milk chum (that's the file name) to match the pot rack recolors I did.

You're here, now I'm sending you somewhere else..

Yep. That's me, I'm mean like that. :)

Creeping Ivy (TS3 to TS2 Conversion)

First off- I apologize in advance for how I'm going to do this post. This set is up at Mod The Sims so I'm just going to show 1 screenshot and link to the post @ MTS. There are a lot of screenshots and a lot of information. Yes, I'm lazy. I go through periods where I can't sleep/sleep well and for the last week the most I've slept a night is 3 hours. I'm tired, very tired. So please forgive me for this lazy, sloppy post.

That's my favorite screenshot and I plan on actually finishing the house I started to plop the ivy on. :)

There are 11 (the original 4 and 7 add-ons) meshes (all with diagonals), a bunch of recolors and if you'd like - you can...
Download from Box

MLC @ tumblr

I finally gave in and decided to actually use my tumblr. I'm not going to quit posting here- my plan is to keep posting bigger sets with meshes and recolors here, and little things there.. like this:

Thanks to Shastakiss and her dislike of the creepy face for the idea. I hope her inner yeti is pleased. :)

The Anywhere Sink - Small Update

Have you ever wanted to be able to put a sink anywhere you want and be able to use it? I have. I had this burning desire to be able to put a sink on a table, end table, desk.. and have it look good and be functional. There is a sink from Exotic Elements that can be placed on a table. While I do love that sink (it's so pretty), the animations are too off for me and the water isn't visible. So here you go:

3-13-2013: Per suggestion by TheNinthWave, I updated the sink. It can be used with the 1/4 tile cheat AND an OMSP and be used on an angle. You can also use boolprop snapobjectstogrid false along with an OMSP. It will still work as it should unless: it's placed to close the the edge of the surface.

If you want the updated sink, please redownload and let the mesh replace the one in your folder. You'll have to rebuy it in game for the changes to take effect if you've already placed one somewhere. :)

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a.... Plant?!?

This is something I've always wanted to learn to do. There are other attempts- the best is some ivy that I seem to have lost. (Story of my life!) At first, I set out to edit someone else's mesh, yggdrasil's I do believe. It's an old fern mesh and well.. anyways, I gave up on it and tried to reproduce it on my own from scratch.

Cluttered Teen Studio Shelf (Edit)

A very long time ago, there was a request at Black Pearl Sims- the requester wanted the tree shelf from Cassandre's Cluttered Teen Studio made basegame, since it required Uni. I can't find that request anymore but it apparently never got filled.

The mesh has been sitting in my quickies folder for quite a while. When I get frustrated and/or sick of working on something, I take a look in that folder. The shelf jumped out at me the last time I looked. So- here's a basegame compatible version of that shelf.

Terrain Paint x 6

I debated putting these up here. Someone might find them useful, so here goes. You might know that I love terrain paints. (It's true, I do!) While I have lots and lots of them, I found myself needing some that were more "in your face". I needed some that are good for layering. A lot of the terrain paints I have layer, but don't layer well. You loose a lot of the detail of at least one of them. The main reason I layer is to have one showing through the other. So- I made these. They're very obvious- but play well when layering. No pics of said layering because I forgot. :( OH wait! The pic of the flowering bushes? Terrain paints are layered under the bushes! Just not sure if both of them are mine. :) Images used for the textures are various Google images that I smooshed around in Photoshop to make seamless either because they weren't or to get rid of lighting differences.

GoS Blind Date

Sharing has started for the GoS Blind Date event. If you don't know what that is, it's a Secret Santa type event- except it was for Valentine's Day and there was a twist. :) We were assigned a "date" to make gifts for without knowing who it was. We were assigned code names. Mine was Hermione and my date was Ron (who turned out to be Ritaxis). This is what I made for her:

114 Shakey Lane (Residential)

Next up: 114 Shakey Lane. Another small 1 bedroom/1bathroom "shack". A copy was playtested and it works fine. The only odd thing: for some unknown reason I made the bedroom long and narrow. I don't think I meant to do that, lol. When I played the lot I extended the inside bedroom wall out one tile and put a 1-tile dresser in the little spot left by that move. (If you try it, you'll see what I mean.) Since this lot is really meant for a single sim, the bedroom is fine the way it is. If you want 2 sims on the lot you should probably extend the wall like I said- and you'll probably have to use Inge's Inaccessible beds mod so a double bed can be used.

Well hello there, dear anon commenter!

Sorry, but I turned human verification back on. I had turned it off because there are/were people who had trouble posting comments because of it. (It's the little captcha, right?) But there's an average of 50 spam comments a day and it's driving me crazy. I check my email quite often and have to read each email I get to make sure it's not a real comment. *bleh* So it's back on. If anyone knows any other way to avoid or cut down on the spam comments.. please let me in on it! I'd much rather click buttons making new stuff than click buttons to delete nonsense. :)

112 Shakey Lane (Residential)

Starting out Shakey Lane is #112. This is a 1 bedroom/1 bath lot. It looks tiny and it is. :) I play tested it with just 1 sim and it worked perfectly. For the bedroom, I used Inge's Shelf Bed shifted up to the highest level with a dresser underneath it and still had room for a desk and other things! So it's roomier than it looks.

Victorian Curtain Recolors

Alright. Maybe my recolors wouldn't pass as Victorian (the velvet should?) but they are recolors of a Victorian curtain! -Maylin's- Victorian curtain, that is.

Recolors were requested by wayniebee at Black Pearl Sims. Since I refuse to make anyone register at a forum, they're going here too. So- let's get on with it. :) These are only for the 1 tile curtain. (The 2 tile will be done soon to finish wayniebee's request.)

WIP Pic :)

Arrrggghh! I wanted the pic to be bigger. :( Putting it on original size makes it too big... and since I'm off to bed as soon as this post is done, I guess it stays the way it is for now. I think it will pop up bigger if you click on it?

That's 2 of the 5 lots I've got done for my new hood. The new hood is why I've been doing some hood deco. :) I'm really liking the way it's starting to look. The house without the guardrails in front of it is my favorite out of the 5 that are done. The lots for that part of the hood are supposed to look like shacks that someone has 'restored' with things that are laying around. Extra wall panels, logs, pieces of screen. So far, so good I think.

So. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I've just gotten really interested in totally decorating a hood for the first time. My plan was to get 3 houses done and post them. Since there are enough done- if there's any interest in them I'll get them ready to put up for download. None of them are furnished except for the bathroom. (And the bathrooms are nothing special, just plain fixtures.)

Neighborhood Trees

Raynuss created some gorgeous trees. To be honest, the neighborhood deco trees that come with the game suck. I hate them. Sure there are some that aren't that bad- but I still hate them. I want my game to look pretty! *pouts*
So I took 4 of Raynuss' trees and made neighborhood deco out of them. One of them (the chestnut tree) is a bigger version of the Orangutang tree that's available. I honestly didn't notice this until I was doing screenshots. The others are: birch, cottonwood and oak.

 Cottonwood

Neighborhood Playground Deco

While placing a deco school, I realized there was no playground deco for the neighborhood. I looked and looked with no luck. So- here is some neighborhood playground deco. I extracted the merry-go-round, tower, slide and swing. I'm not the happiest with the textures but probably won't change them at all. If you would like different textures, feel free to change them for your own use! (Or share them if you'd like.)

NOTE: At least one EP (any EP) is needed for this to work in your game. All can be found under Landmarks. All can be placed anywhere, even on lots.

Guardrails, Barricades and Walls - Download Is Back!

While working on a new neighborhood, I needed some things. Nothing new, lol. What is new is that I did some 'hood deco! So what I have for you tonight is: guardrails and walls for your lots; warning signs and blockades for your lots and 'hoods.

Warning: Lots of pics!

Before I forget..

Thank You!

This is not only to the 3 lovely, generous people who helped/have helped me to stay online  (with some to put towards the next bill!) but to everyone who's downloaded and/or commented.. here or anywhere else I upload. I appreciate each and every one of you!

Here I go again..

*sigh* Why do people have to make life so complicated? If you can't do something for someone, let them know. Don't keep them waiting.

What am I going on about? Well, the stupid credit union. I did my taxes, but they won't be sent in until the 22nd of this month. Since my refund will be direct deposited I know it'll be available on/about Feb 1st. (Prior experience, lol.) So I figured the deposit could be security for a loan and tried. Now I'm not stupid. I figured it might be turned down even though I've had an account there for years and years and only wanted to borrow 500.00- I don't have any type of loan history to back me up here. Anyway, this was Wednesday morning I did this and someone is supposed to get back with you within a day. I gave it the day then tried to contact someone only to be told all their loan officers were busy and would I like to leave a voice mail. I hate leaving voice mails but I did. No response. Called back, got told nobody was available and they've been "crazy busy". Called back. Same. Called back. Same. Would I like to leave a voice mail? No I would not, been there/done that. I finally got to talk to someone today. Of course, it was turned down. My credit score isn't that bad- the main reason it was turned down is that I don't have income from employment. (Although I do have income.) Honestly people? You couldn't just pick up the phone and tell me "no" 3 days ago? I hate it when people do that.

So, I was holding out hope that it would be approved since my tax refund deposit was the security and I've been a loyal customer for many years. Which means that I didn't look for other options. Which now means that the 14th is right around the corner. Which now means that any hope I had of getting my internet bill paid by then probably went out the window. Unless a miracle happens.. I'll probably be gone after Monday. There's no chance of the internet provider waiting until I get my refund to be paid. *sigh*

I'm gonna try to get as much stuff finished as I can today and tomorrow. If there's anything I've mentioned that doesn't get done, forgive me. There's only so long you can keep things going and it looks like I have finally and totally ran out of luck.

OBP Bath Care Conversions (TS3 to TS2)

Me? Converting stuffs? Yep. Hopefully I've done these justice. :) Kweenie at Black Pearl Sims requested conversions of bath stuffies from OneBillionPixels. Since I've always liked the downloads on that site and still refuse to play TS3 - *looks forlornly at her TS3 disc just sitting on the bookcase* - it seemed like this might be the way to have some of NewOne's things for myself. All credit for the meshes and textures goes to NewOne.

Maaron's Lunasim Roses Conversion ~ Slaved & Recolored

Maaron just converted another set of Lunasims's TS3 roses to TS2 as part of her Secret Santa gift to potpiesims at Garden Of Shadows

Since plants are one of my addictions I knew I wanted recolors. Since doing alotofrecolorsX8 isn't one of my addictions, I slaved the set and only had to do 12 recolors. With Maaron's permission, I'm sharing the edits. If you have her set already just let these files replace the originals. NOTE: maron-obj-lunasimsrosetas1-MESH is the MASTER of the set now. The other 7 meshes are SLAVES so you need maron-obj-lunasimsrosetas1-MESH for the others to work in game. NOTE 2: The originals needed University, which I don't have. This version is basegame. :)
