Kim's Table ~ Buggybooz Kitchen Basic Slaves

It's done! A table, 2 higher chairs and a sink. The table and chairs are slaved to Buggybooz Kitchen Basic, so you must have the master mesh(es?) from that set for the table and chairs to work in your game. The sink is a stand-alone, it's not slaved to anything. It's just the sink- nothing else and will place against a wall if you want to use it by itself.

The end result looks pretty much like the WIP pic I showed. The biggest difference is that this is a table, not an island and the sink is all by itself with no cabinet. Otherwise, put together the whole thing looks the same and was probably the best way to do this. :)

WIP... ~finished~

One of the things I've been working on:

That's a strange looking sink, isn't it? The textures look might familiar too....

What it is is part of a little set of a sink and counter- they're slaved to Natalie's (Buggybooz) Kitchen Basic. They can be combined to make a round(ish) sink/counter/frankenstein that works as a sink on one side and a counter on the other. A round island was requested by Kim at Black Pearl Sims. There IS a working version already- but it is mainly for decorators. Since I like functional objects I wanted to see what I could do. The sink for this version is done..just got to whip the counters into shape. I can honestly say I learned a lot about sinks, expanding footprints, animations, routes and how it all affects the sims working on this. :)

edit: The final version is done! :) It might look a bit different, but when you put it all together it looks pretty much the same, lol. Confusing? Um..definitely. But you'll see when I come back!

Extracted Kitchen Deco

Extracted from the game files- the deco on the commercial stove, salt shaker, pepper grinder, spice shaker and cutting board. The stove deco is in 4 groups- I forgot to put one of them in the screenshot- that one is another version with the spices. (It's bigger and a bit different than the one pictured.) The salt/pepper/spiceshaker/cutting board is all one group- there are 2 subsets. Oh..and the stove deco is repositoried, the files are clearly marked.

The stove deco uses the original game texture- I edited it, hopefully it's not too blurry for anyone else. There are also 2 recolors for a bit of variety. (I couldn't get the stack of plates and the bowl to take any color and look good.) The other set uses Maxis textures for the mesh and the recolors so they're nothing fancy. It's all basegame compatible, can be found in Deco>Sculptures and is really cheap. I mean...I wouldn't pay 200 dollars for some spices, would you?

I know some (if not all) of it has been done before. I'm on a mission. I like cluttering but I don't like using a ton of OMSP's. Since I'd rather have clutter in groups, I grouped the clutter that I like. :) Mine can be used with any other extracted clutter you might already have.

I have some more I can share if anyone is interested!

It's Curtains, baby! A plethora of curtain recolors..

The theme at GOS this month is default replacements. Aquilegia defaulted some of the Maxis curtains - while I like them all (some of the Maxis textures really are awful), I really, really like that she defaulted the cafe curtains. I'd tried more than once to recolor that curtain and never liked the results. Plus- I really hate the original textures.

Now that I haz a replacement, I was wondering how my recoloring attempts would look now. This is the result- 26 various recolors. 10 of them are white with colored trim. Those were made using Aquilegia's texture as an overlay.

If you happen to have Leesester's shorter cafe edit, these will recolor that too. (If you don't have it, I've included the meshes.) I also did matching recolors of Nengi's simple kitchen curtain.

On to the pics:

Cut Outs! (In)Wall Shelving System

Inspired by Ogularama's wall shelf - a new shelving system for your sims. These are meant to go IN the wall like the shelf that inspired them. If you have Nightlife and Apartment Life, you can also have shelves on a half-wall. Each shelf has 3 slots for a total of 9 slots.

There are some important things to know about using this system. So be sure to read on if you want your sims to use this new system!

Simple Sunkissed Curtain Recolors

How simple are they? All I did was play with the hue in PhotoShop. :) If you know anything about me, you'll know that I can't resist curtain, plants and rugs. When I saw these sweet curtain conversions I knew I had to recolor them. The only problem with that is, being as non-awesome as I am, I couldn't figure out how to do that and keep the folds in the texture. Are my photoshop skillz really that bad? Yes they are. So I just played with the hue and liked the results enough to share. The converted set - however, the curtains aren't pictured. So here they are:

Chuck Norris Approves- MTS Style

I'm going to do this post a little bit different. Yesterday was Great Ideas Day at Mod The Sims. If you don't know what that's about- it's just MTS's way of playing an April Fool's Day joke. This year is was Celebrity Endorsement- and the joke was that Chuck Norris endorses Mod The Sims. The staff and featured creators are the ones who think up and plan everything- and get to make the content related to the joke. It was a lot of fun and I hope I can do it again next year. :)

I contributed 3 sets to the day. Instead of posting it all here, I'm going to link to the post at MTS. So if you want any of it- just clicky the link!

1st: Recolors of MysticRain's Earth Living Cushions-

2nd: Recolors of Jonesi's Bed Blanket-

Last: Chucky Bears! Recolors of the Maxis Teddy Bear-

I'm not really much of a Chuck Norris fan- but it was fun hunting down images for all the recolors I did. It was something different from what I usually do! That said- back to what I usually do, lol.
